(February 2013) The Northern Maine League was a class D minor baseball league in northern and eastern Maine. It was also known as the "Potato League", named after the major crop in much of the area. Teams were located in Bangor, Millinocket, Houlton and Old Town. The Bangor team transferred to Caribou during the season. It lasted for one season, 1909, before folding.[1] References [edit] ^ Soos, Troy. Before the curse: the glory days of New England baseball, 1858-1918. p. 124. Retrieved 29 October 2011.
