(December 2008) Cherry Creek (37°53′19″N 119°58′19″W / 37.8885351°N 119.971849°W / 37.8885351; -119.971849)[1] is a swift-moving[2] stream in the Sierra Nevada in eastern California, USA. It is a part of the watershed in the Emigrant Wilderness that drains into the Tuolumne River.[3] At its headwaters, it flows through granite valleys similar to those found in Yosemite Valley, though these areas are accessible only to backpackers. The creek is dammed in one location, forming Cherry Lake.     Fred Gitelman (born February 6, 1965 in Toronto, Ontario) is a leading American bridge player, as well as the founder and manager of Bridge Base Online, a bridge playing site. Gitelman has won one World Bridge Championship, five North American Bridge Championships, a Gold Medal in the 2002 IOC Grand Prix, and was runner-up in the 1995 Bermuda Bowl.[1] In 2005 he was elected as the International Bridge Press Association's personality of the year. Additionally, he is well known for the educational software he produces through his company Bridge Base Inc. His most recent project is Bridge Base Online (BBO), which he began in 2001, for online bridge play. BBO is one of the most popular bridge playing sites. Gitelman was a member of the Canadian youth and later open international teams before moving to Las Vegas, Nevada. He resides there with his wife, Sheri, also a well-known bridge player.
