  • Enhanced Drivers License

Enhanced Drivers License (EDL) in US English, Enhanced Driver's Licence in Canadian English, Enhanced ID is an ID card issued in some states and provinces of United States and Canada,[1] compliant with the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative as well as the US REAL ID Act. It can be used as an alternative to a passport for ground and sea travel. It cannot, however, be used at airports. The card includes RFID and barcode to aid mechanical identification of the card and thus the cardholder. An Enhanced Drivers License is currently available to U.S. citizens who are residents of the states of Michigan, New York, Vermont, and Washington, and to Canadian citizens who are residents of British Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario, and Quebec.[2] See also [edit] FAST CARD NEXUS SENTRI References [edit] ^ "Enhanced Drivers Licenses: What Are They?".
