Cantrill (born 1974) is an American software engineer who worked at Sun Microsystems and later at Oracle Corporation following its acquisition by Sun. He left Oracle on July 25, 2010[1] to become the Vice President of Engineering at Joyent.[2] Cantrill was born in Vermont, later moving to Colorado, where he attained the rank of Eagle Scout and was long-snapper for his high school football team. He studied computer science at Brown University, spending two summers at QNX Software Systems doing kernel development.   • David Allen Smalley

    David Allen Smalley (April 6, 1809 – March 10, 1877) was a United States federal judge. Born in Middlebury, Vermont, Smalley read law in 1831 and practiced in Jericho, Vermont where he was postmaster from 1831 to 1836. Moving first to Lowell, Vermont he settled in Burlington, Vermont in 1836, and was a member of the Vermont State Senate from 1843 to 1844. At the 1852 Democratic National Convention he was Vermont's Vice President of the Convention as well as member of the platform committee and choice to serve on the Democratic National Committee. President Franklin Pierce appointed him Collector of Customs for the District of Vermont in April 1853. Again a delegate at the Democratic Convention held at Cincinnati in 1856, he was reappointed to the National Committee where he served as Chairman (1856–1860).     The Green Mountain Giant The Green Mountain Giant is one of the largest glacial erratics in New England. It is located in Whitingham, Vermont. It was plucked from the Green Mountains by moving glaciers (Laurentide ice sheet) and was dropped as the ice retreated. Its circumference is 125 feet, and its weight is 3400 tons. It is a spectacular sight and has been documented by geologists since Edward Hitchcock (Vermont State Geologist 1856 – 1861).
